I’m a co-operative and social enterprise advisor and have delivered one-to-one support, advice and training to hundreds of existing organisations and individuals wishing to establish new organisations since 1998.

In addition to supporting other people’s co-ops and social enterprises, I’ve been doing it myself which has informed much of my practice.  I have been a Director of worker co-ops, regional co-operative support bodies, a Housing Co-operative (which was also Registered Social Landlord), a Credit Union, a Community Benefit Society, a multi-stakeholder CIC, several food co-ops and several music collectives.

I’m a firm believer in the propaganda of the deed!
The one thing that underpins everything I do is a belief that ordinary people are capable of setting up and managing their own businesses and our job is to enable people and demystify the processes involved in running a successful democratic enterprise so you can get on with making the world a better place.

My specialisms include:

  • reviewing and improving governance and strategy;
  • registration of appropriate legal structures;
  • assisting enterprises with marketing; and
  • general business planning.

I hold a L5 Certificate in Social Enterprise Support and a Certificate in Training Practice.

I am a Licensed Community Shares Practitioner

I also hold Professional Indemnity and Public Liability insurance.
